Community Engagement in Henley: Ensuring a Sustainable Future

Introduction to Henley’s Future Counts

Henley’s Future Counts is an independent community action group dedicated to representing and informing the residents of Henley-in-Arden, Warwickshire. Our mission is to be a vital resource for the community, helping local individuals understand pressing issues that impact their lives, ensuring their voices are heard, and encouraging active participation in community matters.

Who We Are

We are a collective of local citizens passionate about improving our town’s future. Our team focuses on engaging and supporting fellow residents concerning critical issues that affect Henley-in-Arden. Through our efforts, we aim to create an informed community capable of making an impact on local governance.

Current Campaign – The Hen1 Proposal

At the forefront of our initiatives is the Hen1 campaign, which addresses the South Warwickshire local plan proposal. This plan involves the potential construction of at least 2,084 homes, alongside employment land and associated infrastructure, situated west of Henley-in-Arden. We express significant concerns regarding the implications of this development, particularly about traffic congestion, NHS and GP capacity, educational facilities, and the preservation of our picturesque countryside and wildlife. The character of our town must remain intact.

To ensure that your opinions are counted, we invite all community members to learn more about the Hen1 proposal and submit their objections. The deadline for consultation is midnight, Tuesday 8th September. By coming together, we can safeguard the future of Henley and maintain the essence that makes our town special.
